Union League Club of Chicago Homecoming

Peterson PM Productions was proud to once again produce the 2003 Homecoming event for the Union League Club of Chicago held September 19, 2003. Established in 1879 the Union League Club (ULC) membership includes men and women from all professions and areas of industry and commerce. Their motto is "commitment to community and country".

With close to 1500 guests in attendance, Peterson PM Productions began work for this event in March of 2003 with theme conception. Homecoming, an annual event, needs to stay fresh and entertaining for members and guests each year. Peterson PM Productions theme for this years’ event, "YOU REALLY NEED A VACATION!" was an overwhelmingly huge success.

To showcase the Club, members and guests are allowed access throughout the entire venue. Under one theme umbrella, 11 banquet and ballrooms, in addition to two that changed over created 13 rooms that were customized into exciting exotic vacation destinations. From Rio to Greece, New York to Switzerland, attendees literally traveled the world taking in international musical sounds, sights and culinary tastes. Guests that successfully visited each vacation destination had passports stamped and were eligible to win airline tickets in a late evening drawing donated by American Airlines.

"Entertainment plays a major role in this event", says Peterson PM Productions partner, Carl Peterson. "Authentic entertainers representing each destination really makes the theme believable." With miles of smiles seen throughout the evening, which started at 6:00pm and ended at 1:00am, it is hard to argue that point. Some of the key entertainers included native Brazilian and recording artist, Paulinho Garcia and his band, authentic Brazilian Carnival dancers, a Greek bouzouki trio, a 6 piece German "oompa" band dressed in Lederhosen, Moroccan dancers, and a 14 member cast who performed a customized    Broadway review show!
